- If a very limited number of parts are being manufactured, i.e., for rapid prototyping, this process may be sufficient.
- Under semi-automatic operation, the operator must still load the insert into the system, but he can also specify the frequency with which the manufacturing cycle is completed.
- This can result in more consistent performance when different people will be using the system.
